Michael's peak of career

Michael Jackson had nine No.1 singles in the US alone during the 80s, and sold over 136 million albums even though he only released two, Thriller and Bad. This ensured that he became the most successful artist during the 80s and earned him the title "King of Pop".

Michael had reached the peak of his career and it is often the belief of many people, that once you get this high, there is nowhere to go but down. However, Michael was making money not only with his music but also business ventures as well. The merchandising of Michael Jackson memorabilia was off the charts.

Going past the astonishing record sales of Thriller, there were also many pop culture changes made due to this album and within the music industry as well. With the release of this album, the impact that it had on the music industry would be undying. no one could have predicted the enormous success and the contribution to change that Thriller and Michael Jackson would have on the industry as well as the American pop-culture as a whole. There were many different avenues of the music industry that benefited from the album, such as MTV. Even though MTV had basically made its debut and was quickly becoming part of mainstream TV, the coverage that MTV gave to the videos for Thriller would prove to be a wise move on the part of the decision makers at MTV. The release of Thriller also paved the way for new and upcoming artists that had a style and flair that had never been touched before.

Michael Jackson's album Thriller raised the bar in the interpretation and production of R&B recordings in a way that fully cemented the black invasion of popular music. That Thriller album went on to become the biggest selling album in history was merely an appetizer. When we talk about universal, legendary icons one person we know is Michael Jackson. He started to enter the lime lights when he was still young. All of his songs top the hit charts. He toured many countries to perform. One of these was in the Philippines back in the year of 1996. A tremendous crowd filled with applauses, screams and loud burst of voices. In return, Michael Jackson never let down his Filipino fans. As he steps up into the stage, he did an astounding, amazing performance.

Michael Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, and outlandish, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980's when he was very popular music's premier all around performer. A uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on mtv, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

Everybody knew that Michael Jackson was destined for bigger and better things. A popular artist, a legendary and universal icon who knew how to give back.
